I was hired in 2013 to start the very first UX team at SPS Commerce. While there, I established a product design process and methodology by which all of the software products could be built.
Using modern UX practices and a user-centric design process, we redesigned and brought to market a number of legacy products — some internal and some customer-facing.
As Design Director, I was responsible for every aspect of design for the company — from brand identity to product UI/UX.
The complex nature of the organization and the way data was stored and structured across seemingly endless sources made for a great deal of design constraints. This required extremely nuanced design thinking and was the most challenging work of my career - but also very fun in a lot of ways.
